I (heart) NY concept sketch
A Milton Glaser sketch for his classic I (heart) NY logo.

1976. Ink and tape on paper envelope, 2 7/8 x 3 5/8″ (7.3 x 9.2 cm), Museum of Modern Art, NYC.

What a great find! The I <3 NY logo is so iconic. It's great to see its humble beginnings.

His handwriting looks almost like the hebrew alphabet. The Y very much resembles the script form of the character ‘zayin’.
