smart idea. But i would tweak the symbol slightly:

making the “man” taller and connect his head to the body so it doesnt read as iK, just give a hint that its a man with a head as opposed to 2 combined letters…

I agree with many other comments here.

The “i” shaped “K” does bring a little bit of unnecessary confusion which isn’t a good idea for a logo.

I agree with Lee, the i needs to be taller. I totally read it as ik, then I was thinking is the name of the company Information Kiosk? The logo and type is good, but like lee the “information systems” put me off.

The person at a kiosk play would work better if the i were taller — to me (who used to do the UI stuff for kiosks), it looks like the person would have to enter data or selections with his/her nose. So it just looks silly to me, though I like the concept behind it. Also, the kerning for “KIOSK” looks bad. And “Information Systems” part is jarring, doesn’t really fit.

Thanks for pointing out what i’d clearly missed. I’m generally very good at spotting the not so obvious that most people miss, but in this case even now i know (having had to be told) it still dosnt jump out at me. I dont have any issue with the font or legibility which i quite like, to me however the “IK” has fallen short of the mark. All credit to the designer however as the idea is a good one. Not suggesting for a minute that i could have done better, just an amateur logo admirer and long time reader of this blog.

Also agree with everybodies comments on the refected version.

The web site definitely needs to be redone. It seems dated, which makes the logo seem dated.

I might’ve executed it a little differently, to see if I could improve the legibility issues you mention. All the same, nice idea.
