Miscellaneous blog logos

It’s finally arrived! The 10th and last blog logo category of the Logo Design Love Awards. I realise the standard of design wasn’t always great, but I do believe that a few gems have been featured, and I always enjoy promoting those lesser-known blogs that you might not have heard of.
This is the last chance to vote your favourite designs into the final, and in a few days from now I’ll be publishing the best logos from each category, showing the finalists and winners.
You can vote on your favourite by leaving a comment. Feel free to choose your top three, listing them in order. Those with the most votes will advance to the final, with a chance of coming out on top.

You’ll notice that some of the logos above could be placed within previous blog categories. This is due to the low level of submissions for the miscellaneous category, and how I have personally chosen a couple more designs to meet the quota of 10.
Coming soon
To tie-up the awards, the most popular logos will be featured – your top 10 logos (the most popular from each category), and the top 10 designs voted by the distinguished judging panel. I’m very much looking forward to the thoughts of the judges, and I’ll also be giving my opinion on what has been the first ever logo awards here on Logo Design Love.
All 10 award categories
- Business blogs
- Design and photography blogs
- Entertainment blogs
- Environmental blogs
- Health and self-development blogs
- Marketing and PR blogs
- Personal blogs
- Political blogs
- Technology blogs
- Miscellaneous (for everything else)

I’ll vote for Simply Recipes (I see a circle of spoons, but is that what it is?), UndiesDrawer, and Versa.
I would’ve loved to see mine in the list, but oh well. Was it the kerning next to the letter r’s? ;)
Anyway, thanks for motivating me to make a logo. This has been a great contest, and I can’t wait to see who won!

I see the kerning is still a little off. ;)
Thanks so much for placing your votes, and I hope you don’t take offence at not being included here.
Ahmed,
Likewise, I sincerely hope you don’t feel too bad at not having your logo featured. If I can do anything to help in any other way, I certainly shall. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts.
Michael, Brian,
Thanks for dropping by.

I just have to give LameFace some credit for being the one that made me laugh the most, NOT in a bad way mind you! I’d say it’s a bit simple but that is exactly what I like about it, plus the fact that it goes along with the theme/feeling of the name.

Am I allowed to vote for my own logo? I’m glad Roberta noticed the combination of my initials. Not everyone catches the K on first look.

My vote goes for Karly Barrett. I like the ingenuity of the k and the b. If I had to choose two more it would 420 and Simply Recipes. As a yank who knows football, I get caught offsides but most Americans will not.
Cheers,
Corey

Karly, I missed the k :(
Now that I see it’s your initials it is a lot cooler – nice one!
Corey – really? I guess if you live in America you’re in a position to judge your fellow countrymen, but I’m a girl who doesn’t follow any sports particularly closely and I understood the logo. I’m from Australia though, I suppose we have closer ties with England than America does?

Kristarella,
Yeah, I hear that a lot. I have the sketches from my logo design process on my blog for anyone interested in seeing my process.
In regard to Caught Offside, I had no idea what the logo was about until I read Corey’s post. Football or soccer, as we call it here, just isn’t a big part of pop culture in America. I realize that makes us Americans odd, but consequently a specialized logo like that was lost on me.

Hi David
Thanks, nice of you to include Versa Creations’ logo here. I like this logo at first sight when my friend-cum-designer, Jef Tan, showed me his sketch. One of the most talk about features is that the logo looks the same no matter which way I flipped the card.

It’s a fair point that a lot of Americans won’t get the Caught Offside logo, but for it’s target market I think it’s very appropriate.
Kristarella,
It also took me a while to see the monogram in Karly’s logo.
Vivienne,
I didn’t spot the symmetry until you said. Nice touch!
Bokjae, Calvin,
Good of you to vote, thanks.

Manuel, Æstheticrew
I have a hard time finding a No. 3, so without doing any compromises by pciking one because i have to, i will just list my top 2 if that is ok.
1. Karly Barrett
I just love it, no, i adore it! Although i think the ball could use some minor editing. I really digg the swoosh – the basic idea behind it –, but i would want it a little bit more in-your-face.
2. Chillygavva
I don’t know what it is with me and double-v’s, but i just frikkin’ love them. And i have no clue about what Chillygavva is about, but their logo has some weird appeal to me.

My vote goes to Karly Barret, I really like the slim font Baker Signet, the serif has such a fine detail. I like the idea of the logo, with the circle and arrow.

I love FontStruct’s for some reason, probably the consistency of shapes throughout.
Same goes with Versa’s.
I just can’t decide, so:
1 - FontStruct
2 - Versa
3 - Undies Drawer

UNDIES DRAWER — it’s a bit busy as a logo, but it’s one of the more original ones I see in this category, and certainly the cheekiest.

David, I have redone my site :) The logo is still the same, but logo text is in white.
For the curious:
My logo text is in Bitstream vera sans which is a free font and very nice to look at.. It has a serif version as well..
Rgds:)

Wow. I’m absolutely tickled that so many people like my Simply Recipes logo. Thank you! Yes, the graphic has absolutely nothing to do with recipes or cooking, though someone pointed out that it looks kinda like spoons. Never saw that myself. I just call it the flower. Got the basic design from a Photoshop pattern. The design, colors, and font are simple, happy, warm, friendly, which are the feelings I’m trying to convey about the site.
Thanks for including SR in this list!

Best of luck with your new Clever Carrot venture. Hope it works out well for you and Elizabeth. One suggestion is to add a ‘home’ button. Not everyone knows to click on the logo.
