  1. Well I don’t like politics ^^

    Here comes my favorite :
    1- Political Wire
    2- Hot Air
    3- Democracy Now !

Ahmed’s last blog post..Newton Virus : de la gravité sur votre Mac !

  2. Politics doesn’t breed the best graphic design, does it?

Darrel’s last blog post..Nice/modern/interesting cabin rentals?

  3. 1. Truthdig
    2. Democracy Now!
    3. Michelle Malkin

    salon.com - what is this? :)

    Sławomir Kozłowski’s last blog post..WordPress 2.5 RC1 na żywo

  4. 1. Democracy Now!
    2. Salon
    3. Hot Air

angela’s last blog post..I’m not exactly a country mouse.

  5. David,

I’m not fond of them as a whole. Some don’t communicate politics, and some are blah anyway.

Having said that, I’ll go with Hot Air. I can’t come up with a 2 and 3.

It’s fascinating as this goes along. In a couple of categories I could have voted for 7, in some, I can’t find three!

Thanks as always. This must be a monstrous amount of work doing all these.

    Regards,

    Kelly

  6. 1. Democracy Now - Nice use of positive and negative space, no doubt that it has something to do with politics - very strong.

    2. Political Wire - clearly something to do with politics

    3. truthdig - nice font usage with lowercase only, although if it was reduced in size much you might loose the small print, and it could be confused with something to do with Boston’s Big Dig project.

  7. moritz

    1 Democracy now!
2 Hot air (Not great, but it works well withe the webdesign)

  8. Michelle Malkin if you can count that as a logo?

The rest not so sure about.

Jacob Cass’s last blog post..How & Where To Get Paid Freelance Work While You’re Still A Design Student

  9. I really like Democracy Now!, but Michelle Malkin gets my vote for best.

    Trish

  10. As per my knowledge of logo design, I prefer “The New Republic”. At least the typeface reflects journal kind.

  11. Thanks very much Ahmed, Angela, Tara.

    Darrel,

I agree. This isn’t the strongest category, certainly.

    Slawomir,

Cheers for the vote. Salon.com is really more of a directory site, but their politics section is huge (with over 8,000 articles). I searched for other politics logos to use, but it wasn’t easy.

    Kelly,

You’re very welcome. There’s a fair amount of work involved, sure, but I’m enjoying it, and find it interesting to learn about the standard of logo design in the blogging world. Thanks for voting.

    Moritz, Jacob, Trish, Chaitanya,

Cheers for casting your eyes over the nominations. I appreciate your time.

  12. This is actually probably one of the better collections of logos so far, which is a shock seeing its politics…

in specific order my favs are:
    Democracy Now!
    Political Wire
    salon.com
    Truthdig
