Loving this logo design for Martin Newcombe property maintenance.
The FontFeed have reported on a new product placement logo, introduced by TV, radio and production company RTL.
Was there really any need for so many iterations on this Firefox logo before and after? I think not.
Nissan Cube vs Moodgadget logo, on ISO50 Blog. Check out those wheels (one giant leap for moon buggies).
Tony Spaeth of Identity Works has launched an accompanying blog, Identity Forum. It kicked off with an insightful post by Jerry Kuyper, The Bug, the Worm and the Death Star, discussing logos and their names.
Save Your Logo is a novel idea. (via Quipsologies)
“Many species of flora and fauna can be found in the logos of companies, universities and organisations…
“Save Your Logo provides an opportunity to invest in the conservation of the species seen in these logos.”
Finally, I’ll leave you with what is probably the most useless logo design tutorial I’ve had the misfortune of witnessing. It’s too bad not to share.
You can thank @logoholik for the pleasure.

David,
I want that 1 minute and 7 seconds back. Damn you
Gone but not forgotten.
That video is so bad, it’s hilarious.
I want to grow up and be a designer just like him! :) Kidding of course!
I love the new Firefox logo! The fox looks a lot more alive, with the tail curling around the globe and the added furriness. Also, the fox stands out more because the contrast between the globe and the fox has increased due to the darker orange of the fox and the extra shine in the globe.
I find the new 16×16 icon also a huge improvement, by the way:
My image got stripped in the previous post: http://www.blaisekal.com/misc/firefoxicons.png
love the first one, i haven’t seen it anywhere before.
Wow, absolutely love the Martin Newcombe logo for property maintenance. Its genius. Nice find, David!
OMG this is the dumbest logo design tutorial I’ve seen in ages!
I need to share this with everyone, but sadly, some of they may misinterpret this as the right thing to do! :(
Blaise,
I’d like commentators to be able to post images, but I’m not sure how to allow it. As for the fox looking “a lot more alive” in the update, let’s agree to differ on that one. :) Sure, there’s more contrast in the udpate, but my dock icon is still showing the “before” icon, and it really doesn’t look broken.
Bart,
It’s the red and black bowling shirt that does it for me. Come to think of it, I could start selling those with Logo Design Love branding.
Josiah,
I recommend subscribing to Denis’ RSS feed (for his logolog site). Some excellent designs are featured — not too often, but then it’s not everyday a great logo comes around.
I think I’m in love with the Martin Newcombe logo. What a brilliant idea!! Thanks for sharing, David.
The Martin Newcombe logo is really great and work particularly well on the side of the cars.
David, you can allow commentators to embed images in the comments with this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-comment-images/
O my… He has more of those ‘tutorials’…
The save your logo, is a realy clever idea!
Love the Martin Newcombe logo!
Also, do you have the tutorial guy’s contact details?
I want to see if he’ll come and do a talk to our class at uni. He’s a genius……….
Though before he comes I hope he’s updated his tools, CS4 should surely make him better logos!
No worries, Kevin. Hope you’ve been keeping well lately.
Olivier, thanks very much for the plugin link. Off to have a look now.

I saw the Martin Newcombe logo in the Creative Review annual. Heady praise indeed… excellent mark.
Can’t get my head around the Firefox touch up, was there any point??
brilliant video, I knew i was missing something when i came to design logos.
Hilarious
I really like it, the client (no relation!) has great taste
The vid shold’ve been named “how to waste other people time”…
LOL… Great idea the novel…
That video made me laugh until my eyes watered! I forgot that the technique he shows applies only to wizards who utilize cutting-edge computer software by making things fade into existence with a mere hand gesture.
What a stupid video! I’m still laughing.
Thanks for all the posts, David. The best blog I’ve ever seen.
