Since March 2013, it has been illegal to sell cosmetic products within the EU that have been, or that contain ingredients, newly tested on animals. But in countries outside the EU — including China and the United States — animals are still used to test cosmetic ingredients and products.

Animal testing causes prolonged periods of pain and torture, and according to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), here are some of the brands that are still carrying out harmful tests.

I’m not a vegetarian, so this post might seem hypocritical considering PETA’s stance that animals are not ours to eat, but I still think it’s important to stop companies from causing pain for the purpose of selling more stuff.

Instead of buying from the brands in this post, PETA asks us to look for alternatives in their “cruelty-free database.”

Comments

It’s fair to say that is hard to find out what is really “cruelty-free” or not.

In fact, there is not legalized product in the market that is product free: if such company didn’t test it, someone else did it.

This allegation is rather stupid and prevails over the ignorance of people.

But I totally agree that, when it comes to beauty products, we have (more than) enough stuff available to take care of a stupid skin or give some colours to your lips.

Equally, for some of these brands to sell around the globe, animal testing is mandatory. Europe-only would be fair game, but if you sell shampoo in Japan, test or be banned.

The sad part is that these are the really big companies so we’re kinda forced to buy from them if we want high quality products.

Be careful what you’re buying guys if you are vegan or just want to help PETA and stop animal testing.

Animal testing needs to stop. Get real people to test your products, there’s a lot of stupid people who would do it. Leave the animals alone.
